Gambler's Paradise
With a magical die in your hand, can you escape Gambler's Paradise with your soul intact?
Gambler's Paradise is a narrative game where you follow Izzy, a human kidnapped into the pocket dimension of a strange and powerful being known as The House. The House watches captured souls attempt to escape his domain for entertainment, while feeding on their dread and misery.
While trying to escape, Izzy will face a variety of challenges that will test her mettle. With a roll of a die, she may either pass the challenge safely, or suffer the consequences. Using Soul Tokens, she can shift the odds of a dice roll, but running out will leave her trapped in Gambler's Paradise forever.
Made for Mini Jam 83 where the theme was "Dread" and the limitation was "Dice must be a mechanic".
The game is not completely finished as of the end of the jam, but we may look to update it further in the future. The version of the game that was done by the jam's end time will be marked. Currently, there are 2 encounters implemented for 6-8 minutes of content.

Controls
Gambler's Paradise is largely a visual-novel-style game. Click anywhere to continue the dialogue.
At certain points in the story, you will roll a die to determine the outcome of a challenge or decision. While the outcome is up to chance, you can skew the chances towards a desired outcome by spending a resource called a Soul Token.
Running out of Soul Tokens will end the game, so choose wisely when to use them.
Hold the escape key for 3 seconds to quit the game.
